You will feel like a winner and a champion playing this exciting paddle game called Pickleball. Now you and your friends can join thousands of other people playing this net court game. This mini-tennis game is played by 2 or 4 people on a badminton-sized court using wood paddle racquets and a plastic, poly baseball with holes.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SSAC PICKLEBALL TEAMS
The Sechelt Seniors Activity Centre recently hosted a Pickleball tournament in which we battled with members from Vancouver's North Shore. Dennis Regnier, the Activity Centres Vice President and Pickleball Co-Chair would like to announce that the Sechelt players faired quite well with a first and second place finish in mixed doubles, a second in men's doubles and strong showings in the ladies doubles. We received sponsorships in the form of cash and goods from Art Dew Contracting, Wakefield Construction, Home Hardware (Sechelt), Gibsons Building Supplies (Gibsons), The Medicine Shoppe, Tim Hortons, IGA Gibsons, and Super Value. Approximately $500.00 was earned for the Centre. Below is an email received from Vancouver's North Shore representative.
Hi Karen and Dennis,
We as the North Shore Pickleball Players would again like to thank you and all the people involved in putting on a wonderful tournament and a day of great joy for all of us. All our players on the way home expressed that to us and that is my reason to thank you all again. Have a great time out at the Sunshine Coast and keep on pickling till we see you again.
